Bard Composix mesh is a uniquely designed prosthesis, created for the complex demands of ventral hernia repair. Bard Composix mesh is the first hernia prosthesis to combine two different, clinically proven materials to maximize ingrowth or surrounding tissue, while mitigating the risk of visceral adhesion to the prosthesis. While Bard mesh provides tissue ingrowth and keeps the prosthesis in place, ePTFE acts as a barrier, preventing the Bard mesh from coming into contact with any adjacent organs - thereby minimizing the risk of adhesion to the prosthesis. Moreover, Bard Composix mesh can be used in a "tension-free" surgical technique.
