Features of the PhotoTherm CytoTherm DR Model Dry Plasma Thawer:
Features dry thawing and rocking action to massage plasma bags.
Laboratory instruments for thawing plasma are available in either dry or water bath models. Uses tempered water recirculated at 37°C (98.6°F) to thaw plasma. Agitation methods speed thawing. Digital timer displays time remaining in thaw cycle. Plasma bags are visible during thawing to check progress. The unit will sound an alarm and shut off heater if there is not enough water to cover the level sensor. An alarm will sound and heater will shut off if the temperature reaches 38°C. An independent safety thermostat will shut off heater if the unit goes above 45°C. Water bath models are designed so operator never comes in contact with water in the bath when handling the plasma. Rack keeps the entry ports of flat-frozen units out of the water, so an overwrap bag is not necessary. Folded frozen plasma bags require an overwrap bag to protect the entry ports. Both types of freeze methods can be thawed together.
