Background
Citrated human blood is aseptically collected and prepared to order from our colony of animals. Citrated human blood is ideal for blood agar plate preparations. Blood Agar is a general purpose enriched medium often used to grow fastidious organisms and to differentiate bacteria based on their hemolytic properties. Citrated human RBCs are also useful for the titration of complement, adsorption procedures, testing for agglutinins/HA assays, and for the preparation of stroma as particulate reagents. Human red blood cells are perishable and are collected and processed upon receipt of your order.

Sterilization
This product was aseptically drawn and processed using sterile equipment and sterile techniques. The product was tested on trypticase soy agar for 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours and was found to be negative for bacteria.
Storage Condition
Store citrated human blood at 4° C prior to opening. Use aseptic technique to maintain sterility when opening product. Be advised that blood is a perishable product and exact shelf may depend on application.
Application Note
Blood agar plates, washed pooled cells preparations, complement titration, adsorption procedures, HA assays and for the preparation of stroma as particulate reagents.
